Birch with upholstery in crème coloured Italian leather

Attributed to the designer Axel Einar Hjorth (1888-1959). He was the director of furniture and interiors at the prestigious department store Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) in Stockholm that produced some of the finest Art Deco furniture in Sweden during the 1920s and from 1930 in the Modernist style. His designs were strongly influenced by Neoclassicism.
