Born in Krakow, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (Krakow), collecting his diploma with Distinction in 1978 from Professor Szancenbach.

He has exhibited his work with the Warsaw Zacheta (1979); Paris Grand Palais (1979); Bienale des Beaux Arts (1980); Young Expressionists, Paris (1982); Nuremberg - Krakow Painters (1984); Nuremberg - Kunsthalle (1987); Travelling Exhibition - "Szancenbach and his Pupils" (1988); Tokyo - Contemporary Paintings in Eastern Europe (1989); Gothenburg - "The Nude in Painting" (1989); Vienna - Polish Institute (1989)

One-man exhibitions include: Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow (1984), Gallery of Modern Art, Krakow (1985) and Zielona Gora (Poland) (1986)
