OSCAR PAUL (1880 - 1961) 'LIGHTING AT VASABRIDGE, STOCKHOLM' Oil on canvas, signed Paul Oscar was a student at the school of Arts, Crafts and Design in Gothenburg between 1903 -1907. He travelled to Berlin and Munich between 1909 and 1911 followed by Paris, Norway and Denmark from 1909 - 1912. Paul used pastel, watercolour and oil paint with a subject matter of still lives, portraits and landscapes, a number of which are landscapes of Stockholm. Specific for his city scenery is his manner of the Pointillism manner a technique he perfected in Paris. He used interplay between the lights with sky and water. He was significantly influenced by the "Blue Painter" Eugen Jansson. Exhibitions: He exhibited at the Nya Konstgalleriet 1916-1918 (The New Gallery), Norrtälje City Hall, Sveriges Allmänna Konstförening (The General Society of Swedish Art) 1913-25 Konstnärshuset (the Stockholm Art Club) 1923-1925 and "Svensk Konst" (Swedish Art) at Valand Art School in Gothenburg1925, Uddevalla City Museum 1958.
