Charlotte WAHLSTRÖM (1849 - 1924) 'The Pine tree' Signed, oil on canvas WAHLSTRÖM studied at the Royal Academy of Stockholm, where she received the gold medal for landscape painting in 1883 and a won a scholarship to travel to Pairs and Brittany. She also made study-trips to Germany, Belgium and Holland. In 1904 she received a bronze medal at the World Exhibition in St Louis, USA. She painted mainly Swedish landscapes with forests, but also sea landscapes with cliffs. She held exhibitions at the Royal Academy, Stockholm, 1885 - 1887; The Swedish Artist's Union in Stockholm (1910, 1911, 1916 and 1922) plus several other exhibitions in Stockholm since the beginning of the 1890s. Other exhibitions were at The Swedish Women Artist's Exhibition in Stockholm in 1911 and 1917; the Baltic Exhibition in Malmö (1914); Copenhagen (1888 and 1916); Munich (1901, 1905 and 1909). Finally a retrospective exhibition was held in 1924 in Konstnärshuset (The House of Artists) in Stockholm.
