NORDISKA KOMPANIET: the department store Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) in Stockholm which was funded in 1902 by Josef Sachs was the most prestigious store and furniture maker in Sweden (the Swedish equivalent of Gillows) in the early 20th Century.

They had department stores in Stockholm, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Buenos Aires. These armchairs are copies of a set of armchairs made for Queen Charlotte of Sweden in 1810 for the Royal Palace of Rosersberg. They are now in the museum of Waldersmarsudde in Stockholm, formerly the Royal residence of Prince Eugen.
