SET OF 4 BIEDERMEIER CHAIRS ATTRIBUTED TO JOSEF DANHAUSER AUSTRIAN C. 1820-1830 WALNUT These chairs has been repolished and re-upholstered to a very high standard and is in excellent condition. They are covered in a lining fabric. Stock no. HG 6729 Literature: George Himmelheber 'The History of German Furniture' ill. 482: A set of chairs made in 1838 by Josef Danhauser, the most famous Viennese cabinetmaker. The chairs were made for Schloss Friedberg, in Tyrol, where they still are nowadays. Angus Wilkie's book 'Biedermeier' shows Danhauser's catalogue of similar chairs, made in his workshop in Vienna.
